Ceramics Project

I made this chip and salsa bowl using clay that was glazed and fired in a kiln. It is 16 inches in diameter. Shape and form were the design elements stressed during its creation. I used the technique of putting clay over the top of a bowl  and letting the clay form to the contours of the bowl. I designed this piece so that it would be able to hold chips and salsa together in the same bowl. If I were to repeat this project i would glaze the whole thing instead of just the inside.

Pastel

This is a drawing of one of my favorite childhood drinks. I made this drawing using pastel on red construction paper. I planned this drawing by using a thumbnail sketch. A thumbnail sketch is a smaller, less- detailed version of a drawing that helps to plan the layout of your composition. I added dimension to my drawing using different shading and value. I created a light-source by putting the shadows behind the bottles and by changing the value on the bottles.

Shoe Drawing

I did this drawing of my own shoes using a pencil on manilla paper. I used the side of my pencil to do the shading by going lighter in some parts and darker in others. To do this drawing, I first had to position my shoes one on top of the other like they are in my picture. Next, I drew the shoe on top by loooking at the model. After that, I drew the shoe on the bottom by placing it farther up on the paper than the first shoe. This was on of my favorite drawings.

Logo

This is a drawing I created using sharpie on white paper. I tried to represent myself in the drawing by using the hammock as a symbol for my laid-back lifestyle. I also put my initials in the sun to represent my bright personality.
